garden through French doors, Access to the Farnier cottage
through an interior door.
Nathaniel Smith was credited for the name of nearby
Cuffey's Cove in the early days when Australian African-Americans
were called "cuffeys." When an Australian whaling
crew, taking on provisions at the Cove, saw Nat Smith,
they called it "Cuffey's" and the name has remained
ever since.
